CLASS D LICENSE (TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING)
Persons with an Ontario Class DZ license are licensed to drive any DZ purpose vehicle and may operate any truck or motor vehicle combination exceeding 11,000 kg. The training provided in our school prepares an individual to pass the Ministry of Transportation Road Test and the Air Brake Endorsement (Z).
An applicant for a class “D” license must:
- Be 18 years of age.
- Hold a valid Ontario Class “G” license.
- Complete MTO Medical done by doctor.
- Student may get the medical form either from the school or the MTO as it may not be available with the Doctor. (Specific form designed by the Ministry)
- Pass the applicable knowledge test.
CLASS B LICENSE (SCHOOL BUS DRIVER PROGRAM)
The School Bus Driver Program at Ontario Truck and Forklift Driving School is created so that our students can learn the procedures and skills that are needed to safely operate a school bus and commercial bus. This program is designed to meet the training requirements so that students can gain basic knowledge and practical skills that are needed to become an entry-level school bus/commercial bus driver. This program is suitable for anyone with little or no prior knowledge or experience in driving a school bus.
Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age-
- Must hold valid Ontario Class “G” license or higher
- Meet medical & vision standards
- Complete the beginner’s test
- Not be classed as Probationary or Novice Driver.
- Not have accumulated more than 6 demerit points.
- Not have driver’s license under suspension at any time within the preceding 12 months within the past 5 years
- Not have been convicted or found guilty of any offenses for conduct
- Have successfully completed a Professional Driver Improvement Course approved (PDIC) by the Ministry of Transportation

Forklift Training and License:
It includes:
- Classroom training on the theory of lift truck operation and safety issues includes the use of workbooks and video.
- Hands on operation of the forklift.
- Evaluation is based on participants ability to demonstrate:
- Daily inspection procedure
- Site inspection for hazards
- Demonstration of safe operation
- Completion of a quiz on all aspects of the operation of the equipment as well as the regulations relating to the safe operation of the equipment.

AIR BRAKE PROGRAM
Air Brake Program (Theory & Practical) Class (Z)
Participants must have a valid Ontario class “G” license or greater to attend.
If you plan to upgrade your current Class “G” license to a higher class, you need the 12 hours air brake course. Ontario Truck & Forklift Driving School will supply a certified Air Brake Instructor that will conduct the 12 hour Ministry of Transportation approved Air Brake Endorsement Course.
At the conclusion of the course a 20 question written test will be administered, out of which 16 questions have to be cleared. Upon successful completion a practical examination will also be done on a tractor trailer unit. At the successful completion of the program, a certificate will be granted that must be forwarded to the local driver test centre.
Upon completion Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Program, applicant will receive the certificate. Present this envelope to a DriveTest Centre within 6 months to add the Z endorsement to your license.

This program does not require approval under Private Career College Act, 2005.
